Resources

Resources that may help you with your next design project or to communicate with a designer. A graphic designer can help you put these resources to best use.

Fonts

Free Fonts

If you're on a budget, Google Fonts has a free font library. Check the license as not all may be available for commercial use.

In general, the selection is much more limited than commercial font libraries and some fonts may be missing styles like bold, italic, or black. When designing with free fonts, altering them in a vector editing program can help make them look more unique.

Commercial Fonts

There are many commercial font websites available. I recommend You Work For Them which has a good selection of fonts from independent type foundries.

The fonts are available at a range of prices that often go on sale. There are licenses available for desktop, web, and other uses so you can pick the one which suits your application the most. These licenses use a buy-once model instead of a subscription based model.

Image Libraries

Photography

Photography you can use for personal or commercial use is available on Unsplash or Pexels.

Vector Images

Some photography and free vector images (though often in raster format and requires editing to truly be vector) is available from Pixabay.

Web and Document Accessibility

Accessibility Guides

WebAIM is a great website to get started with learning about web accessibility.

If you are developing a website or creating a document be it a Word Document, PDF, or presentation, you can get advice on how to make your content easier to navigate and use by keyboard users, and easier to see. Ensuring your information is easy to process and navigate will help your site reach a larger audience.
